Hey! Corporation! Leave them kids alone!
Full disclosure, I watch the NFL. But their semi-recent partnership with Nickelodeon feels a little fucked up to me?
Like, what are we doing? I know half the country is watching the games but, are we seriously still going to try to encourage our pre-pubescent kids to get obsessed with it? There's so much data out there on the short and long term effects of traumatic brain injuries, and sure the NFL tried to sweep it all under the rug but...we all saw that and didn't fall for it, right?
I like watching it as much as the next person. Just like I enjoy eating McDonalds as much as the next person. But this feels a lot to me like the toys that come with the happy meals. Just a corporation that has a net-negative impact on society forcing their shit onto defenceless kids.
Not saying we boycott the football and hamburgers. But maybe we tell them to stay the fuck away from our kids.
